  • Study Focus: To test the effects of a sleep educationprogram on sleep, health status, quality of life, andinflammation.
  • Location: Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Bay area
  • Compensation: Care Partners may receive up to $450, and Care Receivers may receive up to $300

You may be able to join if...


  • You are a family relative or friend providing care for someone with dementia

  • You and your loved-one have sleep troubles

  • You and your loved-one live together, at least part-time
 

You can't join if...


  • You are a paid caregiver

  • Your loved-one lives in an assisted living facility

  • Your loved-one is bedbound and unable to move

What will participants be asked to do?

  • Initial Evaluation:
    • Questionnaires about sleep habits and overall health
    • You will both be asked to wear a sleep watch for 1 week

  • Sleep Education Sessions:
    • You will meet one-on-one with a sleep educator for 5 sessions
    • The Care-Receiver only needs to be present for the first session

  • 2 Follow-up Evaluations:
    • After the Sleep Education Program ends
    • 6 months after the Sleep Education Program ends

  • 3 Optional blood draws (from Care Partners only)
